last day of December 2020

2020 has been such a tumultuous year that it is essential as we leave it behind---in the rear-view mirror--that we reflect on it.   

​

To be sure, this is a year in all our lives that we will never ever forget.

​

There has been so much loss this year.   The sheer number of human beings who lost their lives in the pandemic is beyond our ability to fathom.   And for innumerable reasons in all corners of the globe, many people lost their lives due to hunger, poverty, injustice, racism, discrimination and genocide.   Democracy, certainly in the United States, was on the precipice, something that was especially apparent at the end of 2020.
